Governance & Stewardship
The Howard & Carol Safir Foundation is a nonprofit organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operates in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including charitable solicitation and registration requirements.
The Foundation is committed to:
- Transparent financial management and public accountability
- Objective and independent grant review processes
- Clear conflict-of-interest and ethics policies
- Responsible stewardship of charitable assets
- Measurable outcomes aligned with our charitable purpose
The Foundation is registered, or will be registered as required, to solicit charitable contributions in jurisdictions where it conducts fundraising activities, including Maryland and Delaware.
